Nightshade 2017

Nightshade is this years 2017 Marching Band theme. Its based off of the well known plant Nightshade. The deadly plant is explained in the show by having the color guard be an evil type of creature that is known to be a man-eating disaster. In the start of the show, the color guard begins to dance around, but when the beginning part comes to an end, the full marching band is trapped in their vines, unable to escape.

Now the Ballad begins, or the middle of the show. The show starts out with a solo singer and a few chords from the front ensemble. The color guard mysteriously dances around the groups of terrified band members. Next is the guitar solo played by Trinity Forish. Along with Delaney Rice’s rocking drum beat, this continues on as the color guard traps everyone in their view.

Now for the closing show, where the show goes from mysterious, to upbeat rock. This is when the full marching band begins to over power the color guard. As they look fearful, the marching band plays at their loudest, which the color guard can’t compete with. At the end, the color guard becomes weak and falls to the ground, and the marching band holds their hand out in victory.
